FCACU – Catalan Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations – was founded in 1984, even though its oldest member, Amics de la UNESCO de Barcelona, was created in 1960. UNESCO Clubs and Associations are non-profit organisations whose main activity is to promote the UNESCO ideals. Their activities are addressed to its wider public and they can perform thanks to the voluntary work of their members. FCACU promotes project implementation among its members, it displays its representation internationally as well as in front of institutions, and it serves as a relation promoter among its different members of the UNESCO civil society.
